Jerry Mazo

Principal Designer & Founder

Jerry started his passion for design in 1999 while living in Chicago working for a new construction real estate group. He moved to South Florida in 2008 and attended The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.  After graduating Suma Cum Laude, he opened SPACEdfi, Design For Interiors in 2011.  Over the course of the past 14 years, Jerry was Lead Designer of a high-end contemporary furnishing &. design showroom in Boca Raton.  He then expanded into luxury Italian kitchen, bath, and closet design.  His experiences paved the way to partnering with leading local realtors, custom home builders, and premier development groups.

Jerry loves getting inspiration from his travels and apply them to his “function first, fashion follows” approach.  His personal favorite design trick is to combine masculine tones with feminine lines while implementing a layering strategy of textures, lighting, and a mix of natural elements.

"One of the most important aspects of design in my opinion, is that the story we create speaks to the clients personality and way of life."

Sydney Torres

Senior Designer & Partner

Sydney’s love for design started early in her years as her first love was fashion. She worked in retail most of her early life becoming a personal stylist, as she studied her way through FAU graduating with a Marketing and Business Degree. Eager for more of a creative challenge in 2017 she stumbled into a luxury kitchen, bath, & closet design firm to be the social media marketing director. Much like her love fashion, she quickly fell in love with beautiful details of Italian cabinetry. The technical aspect of the intricate details, designing a place around the most important part of the home is what really drove her.

Sydney then began design school at Palm Beach State in Boca Raton. Her roles quickly changed into an Italian Kitchen, Bath & Closet Design. Sydney slowly transitioned into working with a custom home builder, she learned many different fascists of design and the details of building a home from the ground up. 2021 her and Jerry knew the opportunity to start something great together was on the rise. Sydney took a leap of faith in joining forces with Principal Designer Jerry Mazo. Sydney appreciates all different styles of design, she loves an effortless elegance.

“My favorite part of the design is of course the fashion. However, its the process... Selecting a statement piece or pieces, than accessorizing to tell a story about your look, but in this case its your clients home.”

Amanda Rypkema

Associate Designer

Amanda’s passion for design has been a constant since childhood through her love of music and the beauty of the outdoors, which ultimately led to her departure from native New Jersey to sunny South Florida in 2009 where she dedicated her collegiate years to achieving a bachelor’s degree in public relations and psychology at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach. This gave her a firm professional foundation for her step into the high-end hospitality space creating memorable moments for the country’s top fortune 500 companies. Amanda then found herself as the assistant Director of Marketing for a global real estate developer in the heart of West Palm Beach, focusing on the luxury rebrand of an innovative 72-acre commercial and residential property. In 2020, as the world shifted, so did Amanda’s creative focus toward interior design and from there spent several years as a top-design sales associate at a luxury contemporary showroom and design studio in Boca Raton. Looking to expand and grow in various design opportunities, Amanda joined forces with team SPACEdfi as an Associate Designer.

“There’s something to be said about the purity of stepping into a space or on an empty lot that you know is going to be completely transformed. To me, residential interior design means that, for some amount of time, we’re connected to someone’s life in such a way that it creates a lasting imprint on their future days. I’m constantly inspired by the brilliance of possibility to create something out of a thought and a collaborative dream. This is the team to make that happen.”
